If you have not yet made yourself familiar with the “Home School Situation” that exists in Germany right now, may I suggest that you do. It may be the pattern that California and the rest of the U.S. follows. There are several excellent articles archived at the World Net Daily site. Not only is the idea of home schooling frowned upon there, and the act itself illegal, parents who have insisted upon education at home are now fleeing Germany. Once caught, families have not faced a fine, or court appearance there. Rather they’ve seen their children taken and forcibly put into psychiatric institutions, in order to assess the “damage” the parents may have done. A friend of mine recently shared a story that drove home to me the German thinking here, and how it truly does pervade the society. It seems that they opened their home to a German exchange student. This exchange student attended High School with my friend’s older children. However, this Christian family home schooled the younger children. The exchange student lectured my friend repeatedly on the damage she was doing to the younger children. Finally, the German returned home, too upset to continue her own education here. You must consider this. Parents in California, including many that had no religious affiliations, made the decision to home school. They felt that they had no choice, as the recent changes in the curriculum went, as they say, “beyond the pale”. Children were encouraged to ‘identify with their gender’… and I do not necessarily mean the one they were born with. Further, the homosexual lifestyle was not only introduced, it was taught as a viable responsible and valid life style. Whatever your personal values, certainly this should not take up classroom time. An Appellate Court in California recently ruled that a parent may legally home school only if said parent is certified to teach in the school system. So, what will the parents of California do? In all likelihood, some will capitulate. Some will continue to teach at home, hoping to fly ‘under the radar’, and others will move out of state. The situation is chilling. The parents should NOT have to decide between any of the aforementioned. I wish I had a solution to offer, I truly do. I don’t. I hope the good people of California will denounce this, and insist upon redress. Meanwhile, watch carefully for this outrage to cross state lines. Stop it at once.
