The news articles tell us we have a few short months of abundance, before our shortages of wheat, corn and rice catch up with world wide consumption. No doubt, the shortages we face will serve to deepen our questions and beliefs. Even so, I would throw this out to you. The shortages we face are not necessarily the grains so necessary to our life, but rather the bread of life our Lord begs us to take in. The horror of September ll, 2001 served, through God’s grace, to wake up many. We have had these past seven years the opportunity to learn, gather information, connect with others for support, and most importantly, feed on God’s Word. It will be The Word, and our relationship with our Savior that will keep us in the trials ahead. Indeed, we see in the life of Joseph, who fed Egypt during its great famine, shadows of our present course. Joseph was given the wisdom to use seven years of plenty to gather in grain, and prepare a nation for the seven years of famine he knew would follow. The body of Christ, awaken by the events of 911, and the subsequent unraveling of our very national fiber, knows now that the seven years we were allotted were for this period of preparation. I don’t think we knew it at first, but as this drama has played out, it has become apparent. The only security we can count on will be the relationship we have fashioned with Our Lord, Jesus (Yeshua). During the time left, I would encourage you to invest as much of yourself as possible in digging out the truths you will find in God’s Word. Make prayer not just a daily part of your life, but rather a moment by moment connection as you walk through each day. Make yourself aware of the connection God desires with you, and the connection you have with the Body of Christ. Pray daily for the Body. Pray moment by moment to those in service to the Body… those who are searching out God’s word, hoping to bring teaching to The Body, while the time is given. If you don’t have time to read, download podcasts and listen to them daily. I highly recommend the Revelations Radio Network. As you learn, and want to share, you can then recommend this site to others. Time is short. You know it.
